The "fat man" referred to throughout the song was Diego Rivera who, while a brilliant artist in his own right,
was a violent, abusive & philandering husband. Kahlo had a sad life, contacting polio while young, being
sexually abused by a female teacher and at 18 being struck by a bus which gave her significant health problems
for the rest of her short life (she died aged only 47). Marra wrote the song as he wanted to imagine her being
happy, free from pain & away from Rivera and the only way he could think of that to happen was for her to die.

[Intro]
E D Dsus2 D Dsus2 D

[Verse]
Dsus2 D Dsus2 D
We were all flooded with a scarlet light, came through the window with the rain outside
   G D
It all went quiet, a vision appeared, with a rose in her hair and a ring in her ear
             G D A D
And she says Buenos Dias boys, this looks like the place, make my re-entry to the human race
G D A G D Dsus2 D
Here I am an' here I'll stay, 'til it's hasta la vista an' I'm on my way

Dsus2 D Dsus2 D
And they said she was a woman to whom life had been cruel and she lived with a fat man of the naïve school
G D
He liked his beer and he put it about, but she truly loved him 'til the lights went out
             G D A D
And then she made her way up to the pearly gates, she saw Saint Peter, he was pumping weights
            G D A
And he said hitch a lift upon this falling star, make your way down to the Taybridge Bar

[Chorus]
            G D A D
There'll be no more lies, no more tears, no more listening through the fat man's ears
            G D A G D
There'll be no more tears and no more lies, no more looking through the fat man's eyes

[Verse]
Dsus2 D Dsus2 D
She said she'd never been so happy in a long, long time, and her mind was relaxed and her body felt fine
         G D
She said put on Perdido, tonight's the night, I wanna dance with Jimmy Howey in the pale moonlight

[Chorus]
            G D A D
There'll be no more lies, no more tears, no more listening through the fat man's ears
            G D A G
There'll be no more tears and no more lies, no more looking through the fat man's eyes

[Outro]
D Dsus2 D D
We were all flooded with a scarlet light (Let ring)(Spoken) Oye Miguel, que bueno retratro
